Introducing... "SWEETS & TREATS"

As most of you know, I love all foods containing the magic words/ingredients: chocolate, sugar, rich, high fat content, etc. You get the idea. If anyone has ever had the experience of dining with me while eating one of my desserts, then this should come as no surprise. While exploring one of our grocery stores, Dorthy Lane Market, I found the most awesome place EVER for addicts of all things SWEET. Of course, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to "sample" one of their most mouth-watering, tempting treats. As I was leaving I remember telling the girl at the counter that I would be back regularly to taste each and everyone before we leave Ohio. So, here I am, with our very first "SWEETS&TREATS" entry. This, is their Chocolate Mousse/Macadamia Nut Crust Tart. On a scale of 1 to 10 - I would have to rate this one a 5. And obviously, I remembered to take the photo AFTER I had already inhaled about half of it.

And as a footnote I have to give a shout out to Brian's sister, Lynn. She is the "Queen of Desserts." And it was in fact, she, that drove my sugar indulgences into major overdrive with the oh so infamous Chocolate Chip Calazone. Mmm...

JUST PEACHY

Little B has found a new love - peaches. It's funny to watch him eat. He'll dig his teeth into it and gouge at it like a beaver on a log. And apparently, after he has one side nice and mushy he likes to stick it on top of his head. *SIGH* And we thought the bib would be a good idea.

NO TURNING BACK NOW!

We finally got our Ohio plates. And what a nice surprise that was - registering BOTH cars here was cheaper than California (of course, almost half) and Arizona and Hawaii. And the DMV? No line, no wait, done in less than 5 minutes. Nice.

5 YEARS AGO TODAY...

...we got married! I managed to dig up some old engagement shots of us (excuse the quality - after all, they were scanned 5 years ago - that's like 100 in computer years) -and my oh my, how time flies.

We went out to a local Mexican restaurant called Las Piramides. It's one of the hot spots here. Everytime we drive by, there's always a ton of people eating outside, so we figured we'd give it a try. It was pretty good overall, not by Arizona/Texas standards, but considering the location - it was good. The cool thing about this place was the decor. If you notice in the second-to-the-last photo, the ceilings are painted in a Dia de Los Muertos style mural. Not sure if this acutally made me want to eat, though. And on a side note - this restaurant happens to be Centerville's first schoolhouse (circa late 1700's). Now that I've consumed probably over 3,000 calories, it's time for a little siesta.

WHERE OR WHERE HAVE THE SEAVEYS GONE?

This was the subject line from an email I received recently. So, we figured it was time we resurfaced to let you know that we are doing great and are just as busy as ever with unpacking and with everything else that goes along with moving across the country. This is our new family blog, which means our website will be shutting down soon. Make sure to save our blog address and check back often because we have lots to share! In the meantime, take a look back at our Summer in Hawaii. We had a great time and even though it was too short of a trip, we were able to do a lot of fun stuff. I just threw a bunch of random photos from both of our cameras together - so what you see is what you get in terms of quality - just be glad that I didn't include any photos from my cell phone. And for those with less than perfect vision, that are going to complain that my slide show is too small, sorry. I tried to make it larger, but then it just compromises the quality of the video - so bust out your magnifying glasses! And as far as the sound - turn it up! Anyway, be sure to stay tuned for more adventures - you definitely won't want to miss what's next!
